It is with regret we wish farewell to one of our longest associates, Marc Sinclair, who designed and maintained our IT systems since the start of the company nearly thirty years ago. Marc leaves us to seek new challenges from August 1st .
Marc has been with the company from the beginning, supporting the IT infrastructure, designing and maintaining the systems which led UK Calibrations to be a leading company in the calibrations field. "When the company first separated from Fords Barry Wehmiller in the early 1990s all we had was an unusually formatted 5.25 inch floppy and a sheaf of printouts with customer details on. I created our systems using dBase III, moving onto Microsoft VB and then to web based systems. It allowed UKC to have a distributed workforce, but to still feel part of the whole. I've enjoyed working with UKC and proud of what we achieved, it's a hard enough task to stay in business for nearly thirty years without a single redundancy through many uncertain times but we did it and had a lot of fun in the process. Oscar Wilde said 'Some cause happiness wherever they go; others, whenever they go'. I'd hope I was in the first camp."
